I am forwarding a great report from Sean Nolon about its anniversary DR conference at Vermont last month:
On October 12th the Dispute Resolution Program at Vermont Law School celebrated 30 years of teaching dispute resolution with an anniversary conference by hosting Josh Stulberg, Lawrence Susskind, Jack McCrory, Amy Cohen and Phil Harter. The conference titled “The Mediator and Public Policy” started with a lively discussion over the debate where Jack, Larry and Josh revisited their 1981 debate in the Vermont Law Review on the mediator’s role in reaching durable environmental solutions. A video of the panel is posted at the following website: http://www.vermontlaw.edu/Academics/Dispute_Resolution_Program.htm
The articles were:
Lawrence Susskind, Environmental Mediation and the Accountability Problem, 6 Vt. L. Rev. 1 (1981).
John P. McCrory, Environmental Mediation – Another Piece in the Puzzle, 6 Vt. L. Rev. 49 (1981).
Joseph B. Stulberg, The Theory and Practice of Mediation: A Reply to Professor Susskind, 6 Vt. L. Rev. 85 (1981).
