Last Works in Progress Reminder

There are just seven weeks until the 10th Annual AALS Works-in-Progress conference at Marquette on September 22-24 (where did the summer go?!?!)  Applications for the $750 stipend for junior faculty will only be accepted through this Friday, August 5th, so register now.

The conference will start Thursday night, September 22nd and end after lunch (food tour!) on Saturday, September 24th.  The webpage is located here and feel free to email me with any questions.

Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to join your colleagues to present works at any stage. The Works-in-Progress Conference consistently provides a supportive and collegial environment to present scholarship.

In addition, attendees are invited to come in early and attend the MULS Dispute Resolution Fall Speakers Program: “It Won’t Stop Until We Talk” – The Parents Circle on Thursday, September 22nd at Noon. The Parents Circle, as readers of the blog know, is a grassroots organization of bereaved Palestinians and Israelis that promotes reconciliation as an alternative to hatred and revenge.  We’ve visited with the Parents Circle in Israel and are delighted to welcome them to Marquette. You can listen to a compelling interview on NPR’s All Things Considered in October, 2015 here and read more about the Parents Circle here.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
