“Peace in the Desert” Lecture Series Webcasts Now Available

Jean Sternlight at UNLV recently sent out an announcement that they have just posted webcasts of some of their recent “Peace in the Desert” lectures.

Among the speakers are:

John Paul Lederach, Professor of International Peacebuilding, The Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peacebuilding, University of Notre Dame: “The Moral Imagination: The Art and Soul of Building Peace.”

Laura Nader, Professor of Social Cultural Anthropology, University of California, Berkeley: “Confict Resolution and the Anti-Law Movement: A Global Effort?”

Dennis Ross, former director of policy planning for President George H.W. Bush and special Middle East coordinator under President Bill Clinton: “Statecraft:  And How to Restore America’s Standing in the World.”

Scott R. Peppet, Associate Professor, University of Colorado Law School: “The Ethics of Collaborative Law.”

I have watched/listened to only some of these, but it’s a wonderful resource, and I’m grateful to Jean that she and the folks at the Saltman Center have made these available.  I’m also modestly grateful that she launched this record-the-presentations-and-post-them routine after I went out to UNLV to present some of my research, because it means that in future presentations at other schools, I will be able to recycle my carefully-crafted-to-look-spontaneous jokes.
