Live Israel Blog–2015!

We are in the O’Hare airport  ready to go–33 MU law students, my fabulous program coordinator Natalie Fleury, and wonderful MU colleague Chad Oldfather.  With Israeli elections in 2 weeks and Netanyahu here in the U.S. this week, we know we are timely!

Flying via Vienna for a day and then landing on Saturday morning in Israel.  After 7 weeks of class, we are just finishing student presentations on everything.  On the bus ride, for example, we discussed The Lady in Gold (movie coming out next month–the story of The Portrait of Adele Block-Bauer by Gustave Klimt, looted in the Holocaust, returned to the family only after a victory in the U.S. Supreme Court).  We  will see other Klimts in Vienna, meet with the author of the book in Israel (American Anne-Marie O’Connor) Saturday night, and learn more about the Holocaust at Yad Vashem on Monday.

Other presentations were on the Parent’s Circle, the PLO, the Israeli economy (read where to shop!) and Masada.  We will be sure to keep all posted as we travel around.
