Greetings from Denver – ABA DR Spring Conference

Most of our loyal readers know that the deafening silence on the blog this week is due to the fact that we are all in Denver at the ABA Dispute Resolution Spring Conference, attending as many of the 90 plus program offerings, Section Council meetings, Section subcommittee meetings, dine-arounds and social events that we can. If the altitude hasn’t gotten to them (as it has to me), I am sure my co-bloggers will post over the next few days their altitude-free thoughts, reflections and ideas from the vibrant Conference.

The first two days of the Conference featured the National Final Rounds of the Representation in Mediation Competition. The ten student teams who won their regional competitions in February and March advanced to the finals, which included competing in two preliminary rounds on Wednesday, and then, for the top four finishers form the preliminaries, the semi-finals on Thursday morning and the finals on Friday afternoon. Hearty kudos to Fordham Law School students Amy Dunayevich ’12 and Alana Roth ’12 for winning the entire competition!

The Competition would not have taken place without the incredibly hard work and dedication of Competition Coordinating Committee members Alyson Carrel, Darshan Brach, and Mariana Hernandez-Crespo, as well as Section staff attorney Matthew Conger and Section Assistant Director Gina Brown.
