Conflict Resolution in the Holy Land – the Live Blog

Andrea, Natalie Fleury (Marquette DR Program goddess) and I are in Jersusalem taking part in a joint Marquette -ASU spring break trip to study conflict issues at a variety of levels here in the Israel.  We have 30 students with us and are looking forward to our various excersions and we’re planning to blog about them.

Right now our biggest conflict is deciding whether it’s warm enough here.  The temp is in the 40s and the Marquette folks are psyched.  We Arizonans are freezing.  Not sure this one will be resolved.  Our other conflict was whether this post should call our trip an “ASU-Marquette” or “Marquette-ASU” trip.  Since we’re banking on Andrea’s connections, and I lost the rock-paper-scissors competition, Marquette is listed first.  sigh.

As with any intercontinental travel, there were some worries.  Our respective flights to Philadelphia were very bumpy (at least one lost lunch on our plane), and we (the ASU crew) arrived appx. 15 minutes before our flight to Tel Aviv was scheduled to take off.  I swear I saw Andrea stretched out on the floor at the gate refusing to move to let them close it until we checked in.

More adventures to come. . . .
