The “Mediator March” and Ms. Manners

On the lighter side, today, one of my colleagues, Larry Garvin, sent me a link to the “Mediator March”, composed in 1915 by James M. Fulton (1873-1940). As Larry notes, it is odd to think of a march as representative of ADR, but, who knows? Here is a link:

This weekend, Ms. Manners’ column included the headline, “Law Students Need Lesson in Conflict Resolution.” While Ms. Manners was not directly promoting ADR, she concluded, after reading a letter describing a conflict over saving seats in a law school class, that “trivial matters should be settled without recourse to the awful majesty of the law.” A link can be found here: http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/life/stories/2008/12/07/2_MANN1207.ART_ART_12-07-08_E8_AUC4FPR.html?type=rss&cat=&sid=101&title=Miss+Manners%3A+Law+students+need+lesson+in+conflict+resolution
