Conference Announcement
Cyberweek2008, a free all-online exploration of online dispute resolution (ODR) will be held from October 13 – 17, 2008. This is an era of accelerating change and complexity, two ingredients that contribute to a need, perhaps a desperate need, for new approaches to resolving conflict. Cyberweek has registrants from over thirty countries and we invite the participation of all who recognize the role technology can play in preventing and resolving disputes. Please register here. There is no cost and students are particularly welcome.
is organized to demonstrate and experience online dispute resolution applications and platforms, to discuss challenges and opportunities for ODR, to download information and materials, and to engage with individuals around the world who are working in the field. Please feel free to forward this to others.
Software simulations and demonstrations will include the Juripax online dispute resolution platform, Smartsettle e-negotiation competition, Cybersettle’s
blind bidding negotiation application, and eBay’s Virtual Community Court for feedback disputes.
Special events will include the design of an online ODR course using a wiki and a real time ODR seminar in Spanish. In addition to online discussions, there will be opportunities to access papers and materials from the 2008 International Forum on ODR, held in Victoria (Canada), from the 2007 International Forum on ODR, held in Liverpool, and details about the 2009 International Forum on ODR, to be held in Haifa, Israel, June 3 – 4, 2009.
