Kim Knight Stepping Down at the ABA DR Section

Kim Knight, the Executive Director of the ABA’s Dispute Resolution Section, has resigned her post to take a position with the AARP.  Having worked with her the last few years, I can say that she will definitely be missed.  Good luck Kim !!

Here’s the announcement sent out by Wayne Thorpe, the Section’s President.

Our Section Director, Kim Knight has announced she will be leaving the ABA on September 10  to take a position with AARP.  She has been an energetic and thoughtful leader for us, and we will miss her very much.  When we bring talented individuals to these positions, we always run the risk that other challenges will lure them away; that is what has happened in this instance.  While we search for a new director, Gina Brown has agreed to act as our Interim Director.  Gina has worked with our Section for  many years, and many of us know her and have enjoyed working with her on many different Section projects.  We will also continue to receive the support of our very able staff in DC: David Moora, Rashonda Rosier, Theona Salmon and Jo Waugh.  The ABA has begun a search for a new Section Director.  When the position is filled we will advise all Section leadership.  The ABA is committed to conducting the search with an urgency commensurate with recruiting the best possible person for the job.  And, meanwhile if you know of possible applicants for the position, I suggest that you direct them to the “Careers at ABA” web page where the job should be posted no later than September 14:   http://new.abanet.org/hr/default.aspx .
